We never like to talk about it but there is only one certainty in life.  At some point we will unfortunately die.

So, why not put a plan in place?  Our partner Public Trust have kicked off a campaign to try to  normalise talking openly about end-of-life planning and empower more New Zealanders to get their wills and enduring powers of attorney sorted.

At HealthCarePlus we have recognised that there is a need to ensure all our Members have a will in place because it is the best way to help ensure the people you love are looked after and your precious possessions are taken care of, after you’re gone.

So what do you need to know?

What to think about before you get started

 1. Do I really need a will?

A will is a legal document that sets out your wishes for your assets or special items, the guardian of your young children, what will happen to your pets, and your funeral arrangements and burial wishes after your death.

Here’s a quick explanation on how you can help protect the things that matter for the people that matter most.

 2. How to divide your assets

There are many types of assets and you might own more of them than you think. Here’s a quick explanation of what to consider when writing your will.

 3. What's an executor?

An executor is a person who carries out the instructions you’ve left in your will. Here’s a quick explanation of what an executor is and what they do so you can choose who to pick to be the executor of your will.
