Recently we have taken a look at the cost of going to the dentist and the impact that has had on the state of New Zealand's oral health. For example, a check-up, a filling and a clean can cost up to $645 which is why The last National Oral Health Survey indicated that just 40 per cent of New Zealanders regularly go to the dentist.
Unfortunately, The implications of deferring treatment can be long-lasting and more expensive.
During our research into the cost of going to the dentist we came across the 2021 survey by Consumer NZ where they investigated the average price of a check-up in Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury. We have added a link to the survey here so that you can read it too.
We thought that it would make a good companion piece to the other two articles we have published on The cost of adult dental care and Wiping the smile off New Zealand's working classes – tooth by tooth.
But remember we can help...
